Industry award for franchise lawyer

DLA Phillips Fox is extremely pleased to announce that Fiona Gilbert, Senior Associate in the Adelaide office, has been named South Australia's (SA) Franchise Woman of the Year at the MYOB Franchise Council of Australia Awards.

Fiona has assisted local, national and international franchising clients with legal issues for over eight years and is well respected within the franchise community. She has been a committee member of the SA Chapter of the Franchising Council of Australia for the past 2 years and the national Women in Franchising Committee for the past year. 

She has been an active contributor to the FCA in those roles including chairing the organising committee for the 2009 State Conference, speaking at a number of FCA functions and sitting on the Women in Franchising website subcommittee.

"I really enjoy working in the area of franchising, it gives me a valuable insight into a variety of different businesses and an opportunity to work with clients who are passionate about their business model.  It is really rewarding to assist franchise systems grow from one local franchisee to thousands of franchisees worldwide."

Fiona will now go in the running for the national Woman in Franchising Award which will be announced in October at the National Conference.
