Insurance Contracts Act Reforms

On 17 March 2010 the Honourable Chris Bowen MP introduced to Parliament the long awaited Insurance Contracts Amendment Bill 2010. The Bill is the culmination of a long process of drafting and industry and consumer consultation, following the release of the Review Panel's final report in early 2005.

The Bill introduces a number of reforms recommended by the Review Panel. Other recommended reforms have been either discarded or fundamentally modified along the way.
