Meet our people

The following staff profiles provide more information on what it's like to work at DLA Phillips Fox.

Mina Kukic
Team Analyst - Finance/MD Corporate
Melbourne

After completing my schooling in 2001 I was offered an opportunity to take part in a graduate secretarial program.  Since then I've undertaken various roles - I've been a personal assistant and team co-ordinator. I found I always enjoyed the financial aspect of the work I did, so when the opportunity came up to work as a Team Analyst I grabbed it.

The great thing about DLA Phillips Fox is that it has always allowed me to further my skills by giving me the opportunity to participate in extra courses relevant to my role.  The people I have directly worked for have always encouraged and supported me to develop and broaden my skill set and  I have been given great opportunities to work alongside and learn from some fantastic people in the firm.

My current role is working as a team analyst for the Melbourne Workplace Relations & Employment team as well as assisting the Practice Group Leader for the Workplace Relations & Employment Group.  My accountabilities include team budgets and forecasting, team financial management, team asset management and team KPI's and business driver analysis.

No day is ever the same!  One minute you could be chasing outstanding timesheets and the next minute get asked to do a complicated analytical report for a client.

The firm is very social, there is always a wide range of activities to participate in.  One month you could be heading off on a winery tour, the next a ten pin bowling night, or if sports is your thing, you could partake in cricket, the list is endless!

The most rewarding part of my job is having the opportunity to help others, both internal clients as well as the firm's clients, and being part of such a friendly team which has great values similar to my own.

Agostinho da Silva
Catering
Melbourne

I am responsible for managing catering in the firm's Melbourne office. The position gives me the opportunity to demonstrate my professional abilities in everything from the everyday - providing coffees and sandwich lunches - to full scale cocktail parties and dinners for clients. It can include sourcing/tasting great wines and negotiating supply contracts. I also control the stock and process invoices.

The work environment here is great and everyone works well as a team. The firm is known for being friendly and non-hierarchical which makes it much easier to work with others.

During my time here I've had to deal with all sorts of clients and coordinate a wide range of events. It is particularly satisfying when you perform well in a stressful situation.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the job is when you receive a note of appreciation after a difficult task is completed - it's something that is always welcome and rewarding.

For me, the best thing about working here is the great teamwork and the opportunity to pursue my career in a corporate environment means I get to spend more time with my family than I might have working in another part of the hospitality industry.
