Tony Crawford's career with DLA Phillips Fox spans over 25 years.
After joining the firm in 1980 he was admitted to partnership in 1986, practising in the areas of commercial litigation and arbitration.
Tony became the Managing Partner of the firm's Sydney office in 1993 and served as Chief Executive from 1999 until February 2010.
His appointment to the Chief Executive role followed the integration of six separate partnerships into one firm - a project he led that culminated in the merger of the Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, New Zealand and Sydney offices.
In 2006, Tony was instrumental in advancing the firm's position in the global legal services arena. The firm entered into an exclusive alliance with DLA Piper, one of the largest legal services organisations in the world and became a member of the global DLA Piper Group. As a result, the firm changed its name from 'Phillips Fox' to 'DLA Phillips Fox'. This agreement was the first exclusive alliance of an established law firm in Australia and New Zealand with a global law firm.
