Simon's wide-ranging practice focuses on the provision of commercial, regulatory and public law advice to a variety of government agencies and commercial businesses, many operating within the transport sector.
With particular expertise in government law, Simon regularly advises on:
- The development, drafting, implementation and interpretation of legislation.
- Government contracts and agreements (including intergovernmental and interagency arrangements).
- Public sector governance and administrative law.
- Public sector information management, freedom of information and privacy.
- Road, rail and ports regulation.
Simon's clients include government departments, statutory authorities and educational bodies, as well as major companies dealing with or regulated by government.
Before joining DLA Phillips Fox, Simon held senior positions with the Department of Justice, the National Road Transport Commission and the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, where he advised on a wide range of regulatory and legal issues.
