Alastair advises on a wide array of corporate and commercial matters for both the public and private sectors. His experience spans corporate governance and corporate social responsibility, corporate structuring issues, mergers and acquisitions, supply arrangements, indemnity, insurance and access arrangements and general Corporations Act advice.
Alastair has acted for the Victorian Government in a number of recent transactions.
Alastair's recent experience includes:
- Advising the Victorian Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development regarding structuring, governance and funding arrangements for the Australian Synchrotron.
- Advising the Victorian Department of Education and Training on structuring, governance, funding and key commercial issues for a new company representing the TAFE sector.
- Advising on shareholders' agreements and joint venture agreements - including issues regarding nominee directorships.
- Advising a range of individuals and corporate and public sector clients in relation to officers' access, indemnity and insurance arrangements, including drafting the necessary documents.
- Advising the National Electricity Code Administrator Limited on the transfer of certain assets and functions to two new bodies as part of the national electricity market reform process.
- Advising WSP Environmental Pty Ltd and its listed UK parent in relation to several acquisitions, including drafting and negotiating key transaction documents.
