Johanna offers clients proven expertise in the areas of:

- Health and aged care (including mental health issues).
- Privacy and official information law.
Johanna's experience includes drafting risk management and compliance programmes and auditing compliance. She has represented clients in the Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court, District and High Courts, Court of Appeal and before specialist health bodies.
Johanna's drafts employment agreements, provides advice on obligations when a business is restructured or sold and on disciplinary and performance management issues. Johanna also prepares privacy compliance manuals and assists with resolution of privacy complaints. She has appeared as counsel for both employers and employees in employment hearings. Her clients include local and central government agencies, District Health Boards, corporates and individuals.
Johanna has advised on issues such as informed consent, on issues where patients are mentally incapacitated, obtaining relevant court orders required to treat, represented clients in coronial inquests, advised on health and disability investigations and civil proceedings, and carried out audits of health organisations' compliance with legislation and standards.
Johanna is a member of Law Society of New Zealand, LEADR and Wellington Women's Law Association.
