Lynette has specific expertise in all aspects of New Zealand income tax, GST, and duties. She advises on structuring complex transactions and investments, both wholly domestic and cross-border.
Lynette acts for a range of clients, from multinationals to charities, and advises across all industries and sectors. Recent matters include structuring of funds (including the new PIE regime and changes to the FIF regime), review of KiwiSaver scheme documentation, providing expert opinion to insurers (arising from claims for negligent tax advice by their insureds), advising on the tax implications of major transactions and acquisitions and assisting clients in various disputes with the Revenue and with NZ Customs.
Lynette helps clients to be proactive in managing their tax affairs, for example, by making submissions on tax policy or seeking binding rulings. She advises clients in relation to tax audits, disclosure issues, settlement negotiations and tax litigation.
