Lazarus has more than 25 years experience acting on behalf of Commonwealth Government departments and Commonwealth agencies in all aspects of public sector employment law and administrative law.
Lazarus has recognised expertise in the areas of:
- Claims under the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 ('Comcare' claims).
- Discrimination claims.
- Discipline and inefficiency in the Public Service.
- Freedom of information and privacy matters.
- Applications under the Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act and merits review cases in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
- Unfair dismissals, unlawful termination of employment and industrial disputes involving Commonwealth clients.
Lazarus' extensive experience in all facets of public sector law enables him to provide a holistic service to Government clients, whether conducting litigation or providing advice on best possible outcomes.
Lazarus has been appointed by the Attorney-General (pursuant to section 63 of the Judiciary Act 1903 (Cth)) to receive service of Court documents on behalf of the Commonwealth of Australia.
