Michael advises Australian Government and other clients on commercial and administrative law disputes, particularly those involving challenges to government decision making, contracting and tendering, insolvency, defamation and employment and discrimination issues.
Michael also regularly advises Australian Government clients on the business of government, including statutory interpretation. He has a significant practice advising on employment and discrimination issues, particularly those in the public sector, drafting employment contracts and advising on code of conduct investigations.
Michael has been involved in significant mediations and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms leading to the successful resolution of major commercial disputes.
Michael is President of the Australian Institute of Administrative Law, and Chairman of the Administrative Law Committee of the Law Council of Australia.
Michael was listed as one of Australia's leading lawyers in the 'Best Lawyers' 2010 report published by the Australian Financial Review.
